Apart from the money, my father referred my husband to some of his business partners and within a few years, the business had flourished so much that we built our own house, had different cars and lived like affluent people.
But today, Habu is going back on that vow he made to me and to make matters worse, he is bent on marrying a lady whose father is my father's greatest business rival.
The explanation he gave me was that the man had promised to give him so much money to expand his business but I know the real plan is to run my father out of his business by the man and he wants to use my own husband to achieve his aim.
When I reminded my husband that it was my father who made him what he is today, Habu told me that in the business world, there is no permanent friend but permanent interest. He has even threatened to send me packing if I stand in his way of getting married to the woman who is a divorcee and far older than he is.
I wonder why a man would want to bite the finger that fed him just because of money and business interest.

But as we approach the middle of the year, we are yet to see the manifestation of the YBNL first lady.
Recall that the moment Olamide announced her signing to the world in April 2016, Temmie Ovwasa was immediately placed in the focus of the music-loving audience in Nigeria. Her introduction to the industry was met with frenzy, the news of her signing to YBNL and the inspiring story behind it, spread like loose gas. In an instant, she became the darling of the media. With the splash of her photos on spaces in the media that cannot be ignored and the numerous interviews she granted, she won for herself, her first set of fans. The speed at which she achieved all of these was unbelievable. In fact, I can hardly point out any other artiste that had such early impact in the industry of late, because even without a debut single, without participating in a talent show, Temmie Ovwasa could already boast of good followership.
In all of these early successes, something worked for Temmie, she had an alluring artistic trait, a feature that is necessary in becoming successful in the very competitive and dynamic Nigerian music industry of today. She also enjoyed the tremendous goodwill of YBNL, as interest in her had gathered even before her appearance on the scene, thanks to Olamide. Before her signing, the YBNL boss had blown the air of suspense around his many music lovers. He had tweeted about his search for a female artiste to sign to his label; going as far as mentioning his preferred specification. On Jan 17, 2016, Olamide tweeted that,
“ my YBNL First Lady should be a combination of Asa and Dej Loaf… What do you suggest? #YBNL1StLADY. “ This tweet threw the Nigerian entertainment community into wild excitement. Whoever was going to take the job already had huge expectations to meet. She had to blend the artistic depth of Asa with the hoyden nature of Dej Loaf. So the moment Temmie Ovwasa was handpicked for the job, conjecture among fans was evoked.

Days after the death of Veteran Yoruba movie Actress,  Torrents of tributes have poured in for renowned Yoruba movie actress, Moji Olaiya.

Moji’s demise Thursday morning after she reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest sent a shock wave across the Nigerian entertainment industry.

Her last post on Instagram was 18 hours before her death was announced. She wrote, “Hello fans, Okiki app is now on Apple App Store. Watch movies from me and other great actors for free.”

But before that she had posted two days earlier, sharing a picture where she looked trimmer and wrote:

“Alliamdulilahi to you Allah I give all the glory for all you have done. I will forever praise and worship you. It’s not by power but the Grace of Allah. Thank you for the gift of life. Thanks also to all my friends and family my fans for your supports and prayers. Love you all.”

When photographs of the late actress on her deathbed found its way to Instagram, it was greeted with a lot criticism from her fans and colleagues.

Although her family is yet to issue an official statement, more information about the circumstances that let to her death have also been made public.

Olaiya’s housekeeper, Mrs. Keji, who described herself as a very close friend of the deceased, revealed in an interview that the actress’ sudden death could be a spiritual attack.

According to her, in the last three days before she passed away, the actress had placed several calls from her base in Canada to complain of “being uncomfortable”.

“Her baby was born premature— her EDD was for May 2017 but complications arose that necessitated that she be induced to save the baby’s life as well as hers. But since the delivery in March, her health had not been exactly perfect.”

She said that around 10p.m. Canadian time (3a.m. Nigerian time) Moji went into a crisis. “Her blood pressure shot up and she became unconscious. An ambulance was called to transport her to the hospital. But her case worsened and she gave up the ghost before they could make it to the hospital,” She revealed.

Moji, 42, died almost exactly two years after her younger brother, Abidemi Olaiya, passed on. He died on May 4, 2015.

Endless tributes and eulogies

Fans of the deceased actress have also been posting videos of dirges, which they specially composed in her honour on Instagram.

Her colleagues have also been expressing shock over the untimely death of one of their own.

Popular actress, Bisi Ibidapo-Obe, who shared a bond with Moji in the movie industry and also lived next to her in Magodo, Lagos, wrote, “RIP my darling beautiful friend Mojisola Abikeade omo Olaiya..I will miss you so much! May God almighty be with you in Jesus name. My beautiful friend l will miss you so much. I will forever miss you my beautiful darling friend love you so much.”

The duo were more of family friends whose relatives all knew one another. They were close and always at each other’s place if either of them was hosting a party.

More of an organiser, Moji stood by Bisi when she bore her love child for Senator Dino Melaye, and ignored what people said in the movie industry especially from the camp of actress Lola Alao, who made it a messy media war when Bisi got pregnant for the controversial lawmaker.

The director of Public Relations and Media Affairs of the Theatre Arts and Motion Picture Association of Nigeria, Yomi Fash-Lanso, said, “It is with a heavy heart and sad disposition to hear about the sudden death of our colleague; friend and sister, Moji Olaiya, who’s death occurred a few hours ago in Canada, few days after giving birth.”

Veteran actor, Yinka Quadri, said, “What is really happening, why are our dearest ones going too soon? It so sad to hear Moji Olaiya is no more. May her soul rest in perfect peace. May God be with those she left behind.”

Ghana will follow the lead of Nigeria and Ivory Coast and actively pursue players in Europe with Ghanaian roots to play for the Black Stars.

New Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah told KweséESPN he has already earmarked about eight names that the Ghana Football Association will work on in order to expand the talent pool available to the team for future assignments.

Appiah says one of his key priorities after agreeing a two-year deal is to build a new team with depth and options. And part of that strategy is to draw from the Ghanaian community abroad.

Appiah refused to expand on names but KweséESPN understands top of that list is Manchester United defender Timothy Fosu-Mensah who is also eligible to play for The Netherlands, Inaki Williams of Atletico Bilbao who was born in Spain to a Ghanaian father and Liberian mother as well as 22-year Hamburg SV defensive midfielder Gideon Jung, born in Germany to Ghanaian parents.

"If there are players born outside or who grew up outside and they can add to the quality of the team then you must make the effort. There are about eight to ten players that I have given to the GFA to make enquiries about how we can get them on our side. If they are good enough, we want them to play for Ghana. That has to be my priority as the Ghana coach," Appiah said.

Ghana Football Association vice-president George Afriyie says the process of convincing players to play for Ghana has been a long standing one.

"The policy of the GFA has always been the same. That if there is a Ghanaian somewhere capable of adding quality to the Black Stars, we are ready to make the necessary approach," Afriyie said.

"We are guided by quality and we as administrators we will facilitate that. We have met the parents of Inaki Williams in recent times and so we will go out of our way to ensure that if these players are available and willing to play for Ghana, we will go out of our way to convince him to play for the country."

Those who back the approach say it is a necessary step to stock up the talent level available to the team here as many of the present players struggle for exposure in the big leagues. And some of the players Appiah is hoping to pursue have big league exposure and age on their side. Jung for instance is 22 and has already made 33 appearances for Hamburg this season in all competitions including 26 in the Bundesliga.

The Ghana Football Association will face one major hurdle though which will be to convince the players their integration will be smooth given the high profile disputes players of similar backgrounds like Kevin-Prince Boateng and Adam Larsen Kwarasey had had with the body.

Lewandowski eyes '30+' goal-mark to break record

Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski aims to better his record of 30 league goals in a season and beat Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to the Bundesliga’s top-scorer title on Saturday.

His two-goal haul in Bayern’s thrilling 5-4 win over RB Leipzig last Saturday left Lewandowski one ahead of Aubameyang of Borussia Dortmund with one game left.

This season’s haul matches his personal best, set last term when he won the ‘Golden Cannon’ trophy — awarded to the Bundesliga’s top-scorer — for the second time having won the title in 2013/14 with 20 goals for ex-club Dortmund.

Walter Mazzarri to leave Watford after poor run of Premier League form

Watford manager Walter Mazzarri will leave Vicarage Road after the final match of the season, the club have confirmed.

Chairman Scott Duxbury said in a statement: "After the Board discussed with Walter Mazzarri the club's future goals and aspirations, it was decided he will be stepping down from his position as the club's Head Coach after the final game of the 2016/17 season. We thank Walter and his staff for the contribution they have made to Watford Football Club over the past year."

Mazzarri's future at Watford has been the subject of speculation for several weeks after a difficult end to the season.

Watford are currently in 16th in the Premier League having lost their five games -- including the 4-3 defeat to Chelsea on Monday night -- and were nervously looking over their shoulder in the relegation battle before Hull's defeat to Crystal Palace last weekend confirmed the final spot.
